There is a fire seething in US prisons. Sep 9 2016 saw the largest prisoner strike and protest in history, since then, multiple uprisings, protests and disruptions have rocked prisons across the country. Now, two years later, imprisoned rebels are again planning for coordinated actions between Aug 21 2018 and Sep 9 2018. Prisoners defending themselves against the violence of captivity and in the white supremacist prison system deserve robust, visible, and widespread support on the outside to prevent the most brutal forms of retaliation.
The Fire Inside is a project of gathering these experiences and lessons, generalizing them and helping people on both sides of the fences learn more on how prisoners organize, and how to best support their efforts.
